Jess Franco's Count Dracula on dvd

Jess Franco's Count Dracula (1970) is finally being released on R1 dvd on February 27th. This was the one non-Hammer movie where Christopher Lee played the immortal Count, and the results were quite interesting. The notable thing about the movie was that it is one of the very few times when Dracula has been portrayed on screen as the grey haired old man with moustache that Stoker wrote about in his book.

The DVD is being released by DarkSky Films, here is their official description of the movie and details about the dvd, which can be bought here.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog dedicated for the horror legends Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. (And to lesser extent others such as John Carradine).

These three actors are connected in many ways. They were leading men and icons of the horror genre for decades, often also appearing together in movies. But they were also great friends off-the screen. Christopher Lee still regards Peter Cushing to be perhaps the best friend he ever had, and Vincent Price was also a very close friend of his.

Christopher Lee and Vincent Price share a birthday; they were both born on May 27th. Peter Cushing was born just a day before on May 26th. All three are/were very culture gentlemen with vast knowledge about a variety of fields, great love for the arts and life overall.

Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing appeared in the same movie 24 times. Christopher Lee and Vincent Price appeared in the same movie 3 times and all three shared the screen in 2 movies (Scream and Scream Again and House of the Long Shadows). Peter Cushing and Vincent Price appeared together in 2 more movies.

I have been a fan of all three actors since childhood, I've grown up and lived watching the movies of these three legends. In this blog I will post my thoughts about them, news items, reviews, info about new dvd releases, pictures, links and more. I hope you enjoy the blog.
